Prof. Bleck was honored as the central source of ideas and supporter of the entire field of materials technology. In addition, the laudation for Prof. Bleck emphasized his achievement in developing IEHK to a modern and leading institute of materials technology in the field of steel research with an outstanding and unique reputation worldwide.

Furthermore, Dr. Haase has been awarded the DGM Young Researcher Award for his previous work in the field of deformation and annealing behavior of high-manganese steels. His contribution to a profound understanding of the underlying deformation and recrystallization mechanisms in these steels is appreciated. The Young Researcher Award is awarded by the DGM to young scientists, who, based on their previous results, are expected to show excellent scientific development in the future.
