ASK "steel and more"
Postponement of the 34th ASK due to the current situation regarding coronavirus
Due to the uncertain situation caused by the steady increase of Covid-19 infections, especially in the Aachen region, and based on the "Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Recommendations for Action" of the Robert Koch Institute, we have decided, with a heavy heart, to postpone the 34th Aachen Steel Colloquium to November 18th and 19th, 2020.
We would like to apologise to you in advance for any inconvenience that may arise. At the same time, we ask for your understanding in our decision-making concerning the health of all those involved in the ASK. We are currently in close contact with all speakers, sponsors and exhibitors in order to maintain the planned conference programme.
If you would like to continue participating, your registration will remain valid for the new date of the event. Further information and regular updates can be found at www.ask2020.de.
The 34th Aachen Steel Colloquium (ASK) will take place at the Eurogress Aachen on November 18th and 19th, 2020.
On November 18 and 19, 2020 the Steel Institute will host the 34th Aachen Steel Colloquium (ASK) at the Eurogress Aachen. This year's ASK will focus on materials technology, covering developments and trends in materials for mobility and additive manufacturing as well as new methods of material design and concepts of damage-tolerant material use. Of all things, the focus will be on steel as a material, but in keeping with the motto "steel and more", it will also go far beyond that.
In addition to a poster and technical exhibition, you can expect expert lectures from industry, politics and science. Among others, Prof. Pinkwart (Minister of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of NRW), Frank Koch (CEO GMH Group), Dr. Oliver Picht (CEO Outokumpu Nirosta), Prof. Mücklich (FuWE, Saarland University), Prof. Brecher (WZL, RWTH Aachen University) and Prof. Tekkaya (IUF, TU Dortmund University) will provide interesting insights into materials-oriented future topics.
You can also look forward to the traditional evening event on 18 November in the ballroom of the "Altes Kurhaus" in Aachen. In addition to cultivating contacts, this event is also an opportunity for further discussion and the consolidation of new ideas. To conclude the ASK on Thursday, you will have the opportunity to visit the Steel Institute (IEHK), the Institute of Metal Forming (IBF) and the Centre for Metallic Design (ZMB).
