Lightweight construction in agricultural engineering through the use of wear-resistant high-strength structural steels (LeiLa).

The aim of the project is to develop a high-strength and durable steel for agriculture. This should be easy to form and weld as well as having a high resistance to wear and fatigue. These properties will be tested through practical experiments and verified in real-life applications. The starting point is commercially available, high-strength micro-alloyed structural steels whose chemical composition as well as microstructure is optimised by heat treatment to increase resistance to wear, corrosion and fatigue.
