Integrated Computational Materials Engineering
The primary objective of the Integrated Computational Materials Engineering group is to develop integrative, multi-scale models to describe the microstructure and properties along the process history and transfer it into the industrial application. The work aims at the combination of different experimental and simulative methods, the evaluation of model approaches, the numerical description of processes and process chains as well as the prediction of microstructure and properties. With the help of different methods, new alloy systems and processes are integratively described and developed. The simulation approaches are validated experimentally and transferred to the industrial application. The focus of the work is additive manufacturing as well as conventional production and thermo-mechanical / chemical processing of steels and high entropy alloys.
