Otto Junker Award 2023
Every November, the Otto Junker Prize is awarded to the best graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as well as the Materials Science and Engineering Department in the Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering.
This year a graduate of our institute was also honored. Ms. M.Sc. Alba Clemente Sanchez received a BSC in Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and then studied the English-language master's program in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH. Her study major was the materials science of steel.
At MAGMA Foundry Technology she wrote her master's thesis on a digital twin for continuous steel casting, supervised by Dr. Erik Hepp of MAGMA and Prof. Ulrich Krupp. She is currently working as a quality engineer at Steeltec AG in Switzerland.
